SIC code 99000 is the Standard Industrial Classification code for activities of extraterritorial organisations and bodies. Every UK limited company must register at least one SIC code with Companies House when it incorporates. The code tells Companies House what industry your business operates in.

This code falls under the Activities of Extraterritorial Organisationssection of the UK SIC 2007 classification system. If your company's activities have changed since incorporation, you can update your SIC code when you file your next confirmation statement.

When do you need SIC code 99000?

How to change your SIC code

You can update your SIC code when you file your confirmation statement through the Companies House WebFiling service. You can't change it at any other time — it's only editable as part of the CS01 filing.

You can register up to four SIC codes per company. Most companies only need one or two. Choose the codes that best describe what your company actually does — not what it might do in the future.
